Anything that has value:
1. Study

We get paid for bringing value to the marketplace (the people).

The value we bring is in:
1. The product or service
2. What we become.

We only control ourselves, not the companies product or service. Formal education will get you a job, but self education will get you rich.

To learn, we need to study the fundamentals. There is a small list of 6 or 7 that have been established for years.

Your income is primarily determined by your philosophy. At 5$ per hour, the ladder goes up to lets say 32 million for one years work. If you just came here and started at the bottom, how do you go to 6$ and hour?

1. Wait for the government to change the min. wage?
2. Wait for the company to pay you 6$? How long will that take?
3. Go on strike…demand it? That is being used around the country, but often it doesn’t help as much as the workers want. You can’t use that idea to get rich.
4. Performance and productivity. “I will work so hard, come early, stay late, produce more than everyone else. I will perform so well that the company will be eager to pay me 6$.”  If we think in these terms the difference is dramatic.

Philosophy of wealth…. Find a way to serve many people. What can I give? Giving starts the receiving process. What can you give your people? If you help enough people get what they want, you can have everything that you want.

You can climb as high as you wish or want. How much property can you own in America? How much money can you earn? How many people can you help? We need to understand that it’s easy, not difficult. Many people have decided it’s difficult, therefore making it harder. Some countries have less than $200/yr. annual income. Now that’s hard! Others have it more difficult that us, and we should be thankful.

Simple fundamentals to climb…Learn to work harder on yourself than you do on your day to day tasks.

Many times people spend countless amounts of energy but seem to not realize the results they envision. Like a magnifying glass when it is held still and focused it can create a beam of light that can start a fire. So can we when we realize our top priorities and focus on them. When you truly know where you should be headed, your priorities become clearer and your actions start to take change towards your desired result.

GREAT PASSION + CLEAR MISSION = FOCUSED ACTION

When things come up in your business, which they will, follow this plan:

    Determine the validity of the need.
    Look for a leadership opportunity to be able to incorporate someone new. Your focus should be on only a few things and delegate the rest.
    Make sure to delegate to the right people.
    When bringing on new leaders make sure to publicly give them credit. Build confidence and trust in them.

Many of us have heard of the Pareto Principle. It states that 20% of your priorities will give you 80% of the production. In our business we need to focus on recruiting. If our desire is to help non-profits how many more could we help with 1,000 people in our team? If we want to earn money from shopping, wouldn’t it be easier to have 1,000 business builders helping us find the customers? Many times because it’s easier and possibly more appealing, we think we should focus on other things rather than going through the numbers necessary to find interested and talented people to be in our team. The reality is that this effort is what the Pareto Principle reflects. Our time focused on these activities will not lead to the 80% of our desired result. I did not love recruiting. In fact I was terrible at it in the beginning. I learned to love it because instead of focusing on the work I focused on the result. I then began to tie the work emotionally into the passion for the desired result. I soon loved to do the work. Everything works this way. For many new people they have not placed enough passion and enjoyment to reaching their goals. Attaching that desire to the work is necessary.

I’m often asked the question, “How can I best help my children, spouse, family member, affiliates in my team, friend etc. improve/change?” In fact that might be the most frequently asked question I receive, “How can I help change someone else?” My answer often comes as a surprise. The key to helping others is to help yourself first. In other words, the best contribution I can make to someone else is my own personal development.  If I become 10 times wiser, 10 times stronger, think of what that will do for my adventure as a husband… as a friend… as an affiliate.  The best gift I can give to you, really, is my ongoing personal development….getting better, getting stronger, becoming wiser. 

Raising people up to success is a lot like being a parent. I think parents should pick this valuable philosophy up. If the parents are okay, the kids have an excellent chance of being okay. Work on your personal development as parents.  That’s the best gift you can give to your children. If you have ever flown in an airplane, you might have noticed the oxygen compartment located above every seat. There are explicit instructions that say “In case of an emergency, first secure your own oxygen mask and then if you have children with you then secure their masks.” Take care of yourself first… then assist your children. It would be valuable, if we used that same philosophy throughout our whole parental life.  If I learn to create happiness for myself, my children now have an excellent chance to be happy. If I create a unique lifestyle for myself and my spouse, that will be a great example to serve my children. 

Self-development enables you to serve, to be more valuable to those around you; for your child… your business… your affiliates… your community. That’s why I teach development skills. If you keep refining all the parts of yourself, your character, your health, etc. so that you become an attractive person to the marketplace, you’ll attract opportunity. Opportunity will then begin to seek you out. Your reputation will begin to precede you and people will want to do business with you. All of that possibility is created by working on the philosophy, that success is something you attract by continually working on your own personal development.

We can look at where you are going by watching what you are doing.  You need a plan not just a dream.  What is the plan that will help you reach your goals?  The plan is intentional, and there will be no surprise where you end up because it was on the plan. 

Once you have the plan, then build according to pattern.  Showing someone our business is showing them a pattern that works.  You can not imitate that which you don’t know.  Forgive yourself for making mistakes.  You will often hit little “freak out” barriers along the way that set you back.  That’s all part of it, get up and start moving forward again.

What are you investing?  Others throughout the world are, why aren’t you?  People everywhere are investing, not just in OurGV, but everywhere all the time.  We should be excited that we get to invest less here!  Paying off bills is great, but you will have bills again.  Investing will change your life.

We can’t do anything about investing too much time and effort in jobs or other businesses that have not helped you and your family.  All we can do is give this the investment that it deserves to help you reach your goals.  You have to get ready to do it before you do it.  Look like it before you have it.  Nothing in history just happened all of a sudden, there was a process as that grew into place.  People should be talking about you way before you’re there.  “Look at Anne, all excited about that business like she’s going to be wealthy or something.” 

Find someone who has what you want and get close to that person.  Others will call you a brown noser, a copycat, successful people would call you smart.  Give that person the respect they deserve for helping you change your life!!

Some won’t take this seriously, I am not talking to them.  I am talking to you!  Let them be asleep, you need to be awake!  Are you awake?  Have you been through enough to get up and get ready?

Control Your Words, Control Your Emotions

Are there words we use that elicit certain emotions? Of course. When you say someone is “scolded”, what emotion does that elicit? When someone is “totally messed up”, how does that make us feel? Could words like being “needing guidance” instead of “scolded” make a world of difference in what happens to our emotions? What about “working on getting better”, instead of  being”totally messed up?”

This may sound simple, but  it is often the simple lessons are the most important. Let’s make sure to use words that help us grow.  Careful self-talk will limit the negative messages we send ourselves  and others, and increase the positive ones.

In my opinion, there is nothing more important than your belief in your own potential for success and happiness, regardless of your age, gender, ethnicity, looks, education or background. The truth is that every day “You only sell you.”  You don’t sell websites or a business concept. You sell the value of the person offering the websites and services. The decision of the buyer is based on the value of the seller.  Just as products are described as “good,” “expensive,” “incredible,” and “worth-it,”  individuals are also branded by others as “winners” or “losers.”  Who you are shouts out loudly, that people either can’t hear, don’t want to hear, or listen carefully to what you are saying. Everybody loves a winner, and we all want to work with winners who pass their own value on to us.

Self-confidence isn’t something you were born with. It’s something you develop. Many of us were cultivated like weeds as children. We played inferior roles to the adults around us, who frequently reminded us of our faults and shortcomings more than our successes and abilities.  If you had that type of childhood, as I did, you face a special challenge in building up your self-confidence as an adult. Here are some basic points to remember about yourself: 1. Realize that the most important opinion about you is the one that you hold. Long-term, nobody else is responsible for your life but you. Nobody else is accountable for your actions but you. Therefore, nobody’s opinion about you is more important than yours.2. Don’t demand perfection of yourself. An A is usually awarded to the person who scores 90 percent or better, and sometimes the score doesn’t need to be that high. Professional basketball players only make half their shots. Professional quarterback complete only half their passes, and professional baseball players reach first base less than 40 percent of the time, and that includes walks.  Give your best effort every day and keep going forward. Perfection is not only totally unrealistic and virtually impossible to achieve, but it greatly takes you away from your ability to move forward. The person who is constantly looking over his or her shoulder at what might have been done better, can’t possibly be focused on the future. Drive with your eyes looking forward, don’t drive by concentrating on the rearview mirror.

3. Develop a strong system of values. Take those values, like striving for freedom, being the best you can be, persistence, showing love, serving others, and feed those values. Learn about them, immerse yourself in them so they grow and choke out the weeds around you. Your values will greatly affect how you relate to others. The stronger your values are, the greater the impact. If you are lacking in values, you will begin to superficially mimic and draw from other people’s behaviors. Instead, seek to become a model, one who can help and give strength to others.

4. Don’t reinforce your failures. Failure is a detour, not a dead-end street. Failure is a temporary setback, not a residence. Failure is a learning experience, not a person. Like success, failure is a growth process, not a status. Don’t wallow in your mistakes. Correct them and move forward. Failure is necessary to move forward like bending a knee to step up higher. Congrats for your recent failures!

5. Recognize that the most important conversations are the ones you have with yourself. Whether or not you are aware of it, you have a running conversation with yourself from the time you get up to the time you go to sleep. Your thoughts and ideas are “you talking to you.” Have daily conversations with yourself that are supportive and reinforcing. We know the value of talking to people who praise us, reward us, recognize us, are happy to see us, and let us know they genuinely enjoy talking with us. Talk to yourself with those same qualities – silently as well as out loud.

6. Give each job or task your best effort. Countless individuals say, when confronted with a chore, “I’m too good to be doing this.” They have negativity for their current lifestyle and the work that must be done, and get discouraged easily. Success is an accumulation of what you do in the minutes of each day. No task is too unworthy to do well. There are no small parts – only small actors.

7. To develop confidence, you must see yourself ultimately as a unique part of creation. You must recognize, with pleasure, that nobody else is just like you. No one else has exactly your personality, history or experiences. No one else has your footprints, your finger prints, your voice print or your genetic code.  No one else has precisely your set of talents, capabilities and skills. You are one of a kind. The value is there. It just needs to be dusted off and polished.
