Courage
April 24, 2008 on 3:09 pm | In Business Motivations | 7 CommentsLeadership requires courage.
1. Seek the truth in yourself. It’s us that we answer to the most. Why would we want to fool ourselves? You never will find yourself until you face the truth.
2. Change-Courage is the power to let go of the familiar. Everything evolves and so shall we.
3. Express your convictions. Convictions help us to stand alone. The test of courage comes when we are the minority.
4. Overcome obstacles. Whatever you do, someone will think you’re wrong. Expect trouble. Project courage.
5. Learn and grow. You haven’t learned until you step out, take a risk, and do something new.
6. Take the high road. There is no traffic jam up there.
7. Lead others. Leadership is the expression of courage that compels others to do the right thing.
The Key Question You Should Ask
April 21, 2008 on 10:05 pm | In Business Motivations | 11 CommentsThe key question you should ask is “What is the most valuable use of my time, right now?” This is the question that dominates time management. This is the key to overcoming procrastination and becoming a highly productive person. Every hour of every day, there is an answer to this question. Your job is to ask yourself the question over and over again, and to always work on the answer to it, whatever it is. Do first things first, and second things not at all. As Goethe said, “The things that matter most must never be at the mercy of the things that matter least.” The more accurate your answers are to this question, the easier it will be for you to set clear priorities, to overcome procrastination and to get started on that one activity that represents the most valuable use of your time.
Focus In The Future
April 16, 2008 on 7:00 pm | In Business Motivations | 8 Comments“My interest is in the future because I am going to spend the rest of my life there.” — Charles F. Kettering
One of the biggest hindrances to people’s achievement of success is that they spend too much time on two areas they shouldn’t be in: The Past and the Present. We need not spend much time in the past because the past is, well, the past, right? There is nothing you can do about it but learn from it, and you learn for your future. The Present? Yes, we should spend our time on the present only in that we do so to further our future. Even our time and energy spent for the present is to create for ourselves the future. Yes, we should enjoy the present, but build for the future. This is where successful people live. This is where your dreams are! This is the field of accomplishment. This is the arena of satisfaction. Focus there. Learn from your past, enjoy your present, but put your interest in the future!
Cross The Flood
April 8, 2008 on 5:56 pm | In Business Motivations | 11 Comments“How, dear sir, did you cross the flood?” “By not halting friend, and by not straining I crossed the flood.” “But how is it, dear sir, that by not halting and by not straining you crossed the flood?” “When I came to a standstill, friend, then I sank; but when I struggled, then I got swept away. It is in this way, friend, that by not halting and by not straining I crossed the flood.”-Buddha
Things will never be perfect. So make the best of where you are, leading yourself as you would like someone to do that works in your sales team.
Change Your World First
April 5, 2008 on 6:05 pm | In Business Motivations | 7 CommentsEvery adversity has the seed of an equal or greater benefit. We are the masters of our future because we are the masters of our attitude. One thing I have learned and continue to work on each day, is that statement of controlling my attitude. I have learned to love my work because I realize it is not the work, but my attitude that helps create that enjoyment. When you help people enjoy their work each day, you’ve given them a gift most take for granted.
People work each day, hours and hours a day, hating what they do. They tolerate it even though their is typically no benefit besides money to pay the bills. When we can help people enjoy what they do, it helps all other areas of their lives. Most of us haven’t found the situation where we could combine our work with the two big heart areas inherent in each one of us; the will to love other people, and the desire to serve others. In our company we have it all! When we focus on these things, we start to be a lot more positive. When we are more positive, we attract even greater things into our lives. We attract what we are.
Does that mean we will always be totally excited with where we are and what we are doing? No…But the key is to develop “inspired dissatisfaction” to help create the things you really want. This inspired dissatisfaction allows you to still be positive in tough situations and allows for better things to be attracted, and thus change that situation sooner than later. Some keys to changing your world:
- A positive mental attitude
- Definiteness of purpose
- Going that extra mile
- Accurate thinking
- Self-discipline
- Applied faith
- A pleasing personality
- Enthusiasm
- Controlled attention
- Teamwork
- Learning from defeat
- Budgeting time and money properly
- Maintaining sound physical and mental health
A Team Of Millions
April 3, 2008 on 9:10 am | In Business Motivations | 6 CommentsDo you want to help non-profits around the world to financially strive for their chosen causes? Do you want to help millions of people learn how to go from rags to riches? Do you want to help millions of people learn how truly incredible they are? Do you want to love and support people everywhere? All of these ideas are great and there are so many more that we each could add to the list.
I’ve found that there is one major key to making this not just sound good or feel good, but to making them happen. The number one thing, is to start with leading one person first. That first person is you. We each need to focus first on changing our world internally, so that the effect from those causes can take place in our outer world. Once we have our outer world changed then we can be a true story and inspiration for helping those millions.
To attract attractive people, you must be attractive. To attract powerful people, you must be powerful. To attract committed people, you must be committed. Instead of going to work on them, you go to work on yourself. If you become, you can attract.
While we are having our world changed, we need to become absorbed with gathering and helping change the lives of the first few who join our team. We need to lead them by example and help support them with the same excitement and ambition as if we had a team of millions. After leading the small team ahead, we will start to notice the team growing larger and larger. Before you know it you will have dreams being accomplished and becoming reality, with many that you never thought were possible. Do not forget the part that will truly make this happen in your life! You are the key!
